Mittens will always be warmer than 3-finger or 5-finger styles. If you prefer the dexterity of finger gloves, we have many extremely warm options as well. Click here to find a curated collection of our warmest styles https://www.hestragloves.us/warmest.
You can also filter any page to find the warmest gloves. To do this, click "Filter & Sort" then go to Properties. Under this tab, you will see warm, warmer, and warmest. Here is a quick explanation of these categories:
WARM = Gloves rated 2 & 3 on our warmth scale. These provide warmth and great dexterity.
WARMER = Gloves rated 4 & 5 on our warmth scale. These provide added warmth and will be thicker than our Warm collection.
WARMEST = Gloves rated 6, 7, & 8 on our warmth scale. These are our warmest models and are heavy duty for those frigid days on the slopes.

Fit is extremely important for warmth--if your gloves are too big, your body can't warm the insulation properly, so you end up with a pocket of cold air near your skin. It's like trying to heat your whole house using a space heater. We recommend no more than about 1/4 inch of material at your fingertips (insulation material, not vacant space).
If you tend to run cold, perhaps the information in this page will prove useful as well: https://www.hestragloves.us/how-to-stay-warm
Adding a snug fitting baselayer liner (think socks for your hands) can make a big difference too, and good options for baselayer liners can be found here. On this list, the only one that would be substantial enough to use on its own is the Windshield Liner, the others should be used only as liners under another pair of gloves.
We hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
